Welcome to Kitty Carter’s Dance Factory!  To start off on the right foot, please review the following so you won’t miss a beat.

ATTIRE GUIDELINES No long shirts below hips or baggy shorts allowed. For your child’s protection, a cover-up must always be worn to and from the studio. All dance wear and shoes should have names in them so if lost they can be returned.

Girls ages 3-5: Black leotard, suntan tights, pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes. With tap shoes, replace black ribbons with black elastic to reduce retying and have rubber put on the bottoms to avoid slipping.

Girls ages 6 & up: Ballet – classic black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes with elastic. Hair must be in a bun! Jazz or Tap – any color of leotard, tights, bike shorts or sweats. Your child must wear appropriate shoes for each class. Hair needs to be worn up and out of face. No t-shirts, shorts, thongs or exposed belly buttons allowed in class. Tennis shoes and baggy pants may be worn for hip-hop class only.

Boys ages 3 & up: Shorts, t-shirt, sweats, black tap shoes, black jazz shoes or ballet shoes.

TUITIONA $70.00 registration fee per student is due upon enrollment. Tuition  is due on the 1st of each month. A $15.00 late fee will be automatically charged after the 15th of each month.  A $25.00 charge for all returned checks. Check needs to be picked up with cash. Monthly tuition is the same September through May. August tuition is half and is due at registration with September tuition.  June tuition is half of the regular tuition and due with your May payment. Costumes may be held until accounts are cleared. As tuition is based on 4 lessons per month, in a 5-classes month the 5th lesson is free. Tuition is not adjusted for holidays, illnesses or missed classes due to vacation time or personal reasons. Parents should notify the office when a class has been added or dropped so as to be charged correctly. We accept checks, cash, Visa and Master Card. Please put your child’s name on the bottom part of your check and what payment you are making. ALL MONIES ARE NON¬REFUNDABLE!

HOLIDAYS – We follow most of the Richardson ISD schedule for holidays and are closed accordingly. However, we are open teacher in-service days and Memorial Day. If you have any doubts please call.

ATTENDANCE –  Your child’s absence affects the whole class so any child missing more than 2 consecutive weeks can be dropped from the class. This does not pertain to serious illness or emergencies.

VISITATION –  We have a viewing window so that you may observe your child in class.

PERFORMANCESListed below is a tentative schedule for performances throughout the year. We will notify you as soon as dates and times have been scheduled so that you may make arrangements. Not all students will participate in every show.

DRESS REHEARSAL – The day before our recital at McFarlin Auditorium on the SMU campus on June 7th, 2024.
RECITAL – family and friends will see your child perform in a professional show at McFarlin Auditorium on June 8th, 2024.

COSTUMESFor the recital, a costume for each subject studied is required. Costume fees are non-refundable. You might be asked to paint your child’s shoes or to purchase ribbons, hosiery or other accessories at your own expense. We take pride in our show and hope you will, too. We measure for costumes before our Christmas Break. Please make sure your child is always in attendance. Deposits must be received by December 15th must be paid in full by January 1st.

Age as of December 1st.
Ages 3 – 5 $55.00 per child per subject
Ages 6-10 $70.00 per child per subject (sizes child XL or adult size will be charged accordingly).
Ages 11 and up $85.00 per child per subject
Boys under age 6 – $55.00 (unless teacher suggests otherwise). We usually choose street clothes to blend with girls. No costume fee for hip-hop. Usually just street clothes.

RECITAL FEEA non-refundable recital fee of $80 to $155 per student depending on the number of classes taking.

PICTURESPictures will be taken at SMU on the day of Rehearsal.
